Troy, NY – In the first weekly report of the spring season, the Vassar College Women's Tennis team saw three players honored with Liberty League Weekly Awards it was announced Monday afternoon. Erin McCusker (Norton, MA) and Iris Li (Palo Alto, CA) were tabbed the Doubles Team of the Week with First Year Gwendolyn Gray (Montauk, NY) securing Rookie of the Week honors.
 
McCusker and Li opened the spring season with a 6-0 blanking of Smith's top pair on Saturday in a 5-2 victory for the Brewers. McCusker and Li moved to 1-0 in the spring following Saturday's win after posting four victories as a unit in the fall portion of the schedule.
 
Gray lost a hard-fought singles decision in the spring opener on Saturday, battling hard in a 6-3, 4-6, 0-1 defeat at the sixth position. Gray teamed with Sara Lippin (Chappaqua, NY) at third doubles against the Bears with the duo scoring a 6-3 victory.
 
At 1-0, Vassar embarks on an eight-match road swing starting with a visit to Bates on February 28.
