Canton, NY – The Vassar College Men's Squash team split its first two matches of the 2026 Liberty League Championship on Saturday, falling to Haverford 6-3 before rebounding for a resounding 7-0 blanking of Bard. Senior

Aqeel Merchant (Arlington, MA) each won two matches on the day for the Brewers.
With the split, Vassar moves to 4-13 overall on the season.
Vassar 3 – Haverford 6
- Benson was victorious at three against the Fords, posting an 11-8, 11-3, 7-11, 11-9 triumph for his fourth victory of the season.
- Merchant was victorious at the fourth position against Haverford, earning his team leading sixth win of the year in a 7-11, 11-7, 11-7, 7-11, 14-12 marathon.
- Konstantinos Gerogallides (Limassol, Cypress) won for the third time this season, scoring a hard fought 12-10, 12-10, 11-9 victory at the second position.
- Gabriel Lugo (East Hartford, CT) battled in a tough 8-11, 6-11, 2-11 decision at five.
- Razaan Lalji (West Vancouver, BC) also fought hard for the Brewers in a 3-11, 10-12, 6-11 defeat at six.
- First Year Julian Cardenas-Moncada (New York, NY) suffered a tough 8-11, 4-11, 8-11 defeat at the seventh slot against the Fords.
Vassar 7 – Bard 0
- Vassar rebounded with an impressive sweep of Bard and did not drop a frame in the match.
- Benson jumped to the top flight and earned a 11-5, 11-0, 11-2 victory.
- At two, Merchant posted his seventh win of the year in a 11-2, 11-3, 11-2 victory.
- Lugo made the jump to three against the Raptors and cruised to a 11-1, 11-1, 11-3 triumph.
- Lalji blanked his opponent in all three frames, 11-0, 11-0, 11-0 at four.
- Cardenas was victorious at five in an 11-0, 11-2, 11-2 victory.
- At six, First Year Alexander Thorn (Rye Brook, NY) found the win column after besting his opponent 11-1, 11-2, 11-1.
