#9 Vassar Dominates St. Lawrence

Ivie, McLaughlin net first goals of the season

Poughkeepsie, NY – Junior Alice Crowley (St. Louis, MO) scored twice and classmates Liv Ivie (Agoura Hills, CA) and Mollie McLaughlin (Seattle, WA) each tallied their first goals of the season Saturday afternoon as the #9 Vassar College Women's Soccer team cruised to a 4-0 Liberty League victory over St. Lawrence.
 
Vassar stays unbeaten on the season at 6-0-4 overall and improves to 3-0-2 in conference play, while St. Lawrence drops to 4-3-4 overall and 1-1-1 against league rivals.
 
How It Happened
  • Following a scoreless first half that saw Vassar outshoot St. Lawrence 16-2, the Brewers erupted for four second half goals on Saturday.
  • Crowley opened the scoring with her first of the game just over four minutes after halftime.
  • Crowley took a pass from Elena Valle (Rocky Hill, CT) and deposited her sixth goal of the year at the 49:17 mark of the tilt.
  • Just over 10 minutes later, Crowley struck again, this time burying a centering pass from Gianna Panarelli (Jensen beach, FL) at 59:27 to give the Brewers a 2-0 lead.
  • Vassar's lead grew to three goals in the 65th minute when Ivie converted a rebound off a shot from Sonya Franklin (Saxtons River, VT) at 64:57.
  • The final goal of the game came off the foot of McLaughlin in the 75th minute.
  • After receiving a throw-in, McLaughlin rifled a shot from well above the box into the top left corner to close out the scoring at the 74:10 mark of the contest.
  • Vassar maintained the pressure in the second half, finishing with an 8-2 advantage in shots after halftime.
  • The Brewers took the only six corner kicks of the second half.
For The Brewers
  • Crowley scored her sixth and seventh goals of the year, adding her second game winning goal, to improve her team lead in goals and team standard in points to 14.
  • Ivie scored for the first time in 2026 and improved her point total to three.
  • McLaughlin also tallied for the first time this fall, becoming the 12th different Brewer to score a goal to date this season.
  • Valle and Panarelli entered a three-way tie for first on the team in assists with each recording their third helper of the campaign.
  • Franklin picked up her first assist and point of the season for the Brewers.
  • Crowley paced the Brewers with six shots, putting four on goal.
  • Panarelli finished with four attempts for the Brewers.
  • McLaughlin closed the day with three shots, including two on goal.
  • Laura Shea (Swarthmore, PA) and Emily McMahon (Mill Valley, CA) combined on the team's sixth straight shutout with each making one save.
 
For The Saints
  • Reagan Murphy was busy in goal for the visitors, turning aside 10 Vassar shots.
  • Zoe Rogan led the team with three shots, putting one attempt on target.
 
Game Statistics
  • Vassar held a commanding 24-4 advantage in shots and outshot the Saints in attempts on target, 14-2.
  • Vassar took each of the eight corner kicks in the contest.
 
What's Next
  • Vassar is right back in action Sunday afternoon at home against Sarah Lawrence.
