Poughkeepsie, NY - The Vassar College Baseball team won a pair of pitchers duels on Sunday afternoon as the Brewers defeated Cobleskill 2-0 in seven innings in game one before senior
Luke Barrientos' walkoff infield single propelled Vassar to a 2-1 victory in game two over the Fighting Tigers. Vassar's record improves to 9-11 overall while Cobleskill drops to 5-12 overall on the season.

How It Happened
- Game one was a pitching duel between Vassar starter sophomore Will Darrell and Cobleskill starter Dylan Schwam as both teams were held off the scoreboard early and often.
- The Brewers tallied a run in the second inning on a failed pickoff attempt that plated senior Luke Barrientos, who reached on a two-out single.
- Vassar tacked on a run in the sixth after junior Jensen Bergman led off with a single, advanced to second on a balk and was moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from senior Daniel Laderman.
- Junior Taison Jemison knocked in Bergman with a single through the middle to make it 2-0.
For The Brewers
- Darrell earned the win as he went five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and struck out five.
- Senior Jack Blau tossed a scoreless sixth inning while striking out two.
- Barrientos picked up his second save of the season with a scoreless inning of relief and struck out three.
- Barrientos and Bergman each tallied a hit and a run scored while Jemison added a hit and a run batted in.
- Laderman and senior Ricardo Reyna each recorded a hit with Reyna's single being his 100th hit of his career.

- Logan Firment went 2-for-3 along with Zach Ducorsky adding a hit.
- Schwam took the tough luck loss with a complete game six-inning effort, allowing five hits, two runs (one earned), one walk and struck out three.
Game 2 - Vassar 2 Cobleskill 1 (8 innings)
How It Happened
- Cobleskill got on the board in the top of the first as Trevor Grieb was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and came around to score on a Vassar error.
- VC evened the score at one in the sixth as Laderman reached on an error and Jemison singled to center to put Laderman in scoring position.
- After Laderman advanced to third on a wild pitch, senior Marc Milano laid down a safety squeeze bunt to score Laderman and make it 1-1.
- The game was sent to extra innings as Cobleskill's Jeffrey Gutierrez led off with a double in the eighth and advanced to third on a passed ball with one out.
- Junior Cade Terada Herzer struck out the next two hitters to strand the runner at third and gave Vassar the chance to walk it off in the bottom half of the inning.
- Bergman drew a one-out walk and Laderman singled through the left side to make it first and second with one out.
- Both runners advanced on a wild pitch and Jemison was intentionally walked to load the bases.
- Barrientos came to the plate with two outs and singled in between first and second to send Bergman home for the extra innings victory.
For The Brewers
- Bergman tallied two hits and a run scored while Milano and Barrientos each added a hit and a run batted in.
- Laderman also garnered a hit and a run scored while Jemison added a hit.
- First year Zach Berner tossed six strong innings, allowing just three hits, one unearned run and struck out two.
