Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's Tennis team finished off the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 loss to #9 RPI. Senior
Arnav Agostinho (Brooklyn, NY) earned a singles victory for the Brewers at the fourth position.
Saturday's loss drops Vassar to 9-10 overall on the season and to 5-3 against conference opponents while the Engineers improve to 16-3 overall and a perfect 8-0 against league rivals.
Doubles
- The Brewers opened a 1-0 lead with doubles victories on Saturday at the top and third slots.
- Vassar's top pair of Fernando Bauermeister (Winter Park, FL) and Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) eased past RPI's top pair of Aidan Drover Mattinen and Andy Zhu by a score of 6-2.
- At the third position, Agostinho teamed with classmate James Balon (Winnetka, IL) for a similar 6-2 victory for the Brewers.
Singles
- Agostinho would manage the only singles win for the Brewers against the Engineers, earning his ninth victory of the spring with a hard fought 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 triumph for the Brewers.
- Lee locked into a tight battle with Zhu at the second slot, dropping a tight 5-7, 7-6 (9-7), 4-6 decision.
- Balon also battled for the Brewers at the fifth slot in a marathon 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 4-6 defeat.

- Both teams will participate in the Liberty League Championship which commences on May 2.
