Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Men's Tennis team saw its season come to an end Friday afternoon following a 4-0 loss to #42 Skidmore in the First Round of the 2025 Liberty League Championship.
Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) and
Pedro Cattaruzzi (Chatham, NJ) were winners for the Brewers at second doubles.
Friday's loss drops Vassar to 9-11 while Skidmore improves to 11-8 and will take on #10 RPI in the Semifinal Round on Saturday.
Doubles
- Skidmore opened a 1-0 lead in the match with victories at the first and third doubles positions.
- Vassar's second pair of Lee and Cattaruzzi teamed together for the first time on the season and scored a 6-4 win for the Brewers.
Singles
- Skidmore clinched the victory on Friday with wins at the second, fourth and sixth positions.
- Lee was leading in a first singles match by scores of 7-5, 4-3 at the time the match was clinched.
- Arnav Agostinho (Brooklyn, NY) was also ahead for the Brewers at the third slot, leading 6-1, 6-5.
