Joaquin Gil (Brooklyn, NY) clinched the victory for the Brewers with a three-set win at the sixth position.
Saturday's triumph improves Vassar to 4-6 overall on the season and to 2-0 in Liberty League play, while the Statesmen fall to 4-4 overall and 0-1 against conference rivals.
Doubles
- Vassar opened up a 1-0 lead after doubles play with victories at the first and third slots.
- The Brewers' top pair of Fernando Bauermeister (Winter Park, FL) and Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) earned a 6-4 victory to even the doubles score at 1-1.
- Arnav Agostinho (Brooklyn, NY) and Pedro Cattaruzzi (Chatham, NJ) clinched the point for the Brewers with a tight 7-5 victory at the third position.
Singles
- James Balon (Winnetka, IL) gave Vassar a 2-1 advantage with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the fifth singles position.
- Bauermeister edged the Brewers in front 3-2 after scoring a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the top flight.
- With the match tied at 3-3, Gil gave the Brewers the final 4-3 advantage after outlasting Hobart's Marco Olmos 6-3, 0-6, 7-6 (7-1) to clinch the victory.
- Agostinho suffered a hard fought 1-6, 7-5, 3-6 decision at the third position for the Brewers.
