Brewers Double-Up Fordham To Open CSA Divisional Championship

Vassar takes on Haverford on Saturday

Philadelphia, PA – The Vassar College Men's Squash team opened the CSA Divisional Championship on Friday in strong fashion, posting a 6-3 victory over Fordham. Seniors Jarid Haslinger (Los Angeles, CA) and Patrick Looby (Westport, CT) scored wins for the Brewers against the Rams.

Friday's win moves Vassar to 8-10 overall on the season.

For The Brewers

Haslinger was in action at two for the Brewers and posted a hard fought 11-7, 10-12, 11-3, 14-12 victory.
First Year Matthew Okulski (Portland, ME) continued a steady rookie year going the distance at four in a 6-11, 11-5, 12-10, 7-11, 11-4 triumph.
Luke Chen (Bellevue, WA) earned a sweep with an 11-3, 11-5, 11-9 victory.
Sophomore Gabriel Lugo (East Hartford, CT) also posted a sweep at seven, ousting the opponent by scores of 11-9, 11-9, 11-5.
Looby scored a 3-0 victory at eight on Friday, battling to an 11-9, 11-7, 11-8 triumph.
At nine, Daniel Smith (Littleton, CO) earned a tight 11-6, 11-9, 11-7 win for the Brewers.
At one, Konstantinos Georgallides (Limassol, Cyprus) battled hard in a tight 11-6, 9-11, 10-12, 11-8, 10-12 defeat.
Kyle Benson (Bronx, NY) also competed in an 11-3, 10-12, 4-11, 10-12 loss at three.
Razaan Lalji (West Vancouver, BC) suffered a tight 11-9, 9-11, 7-11, 10-12 defeat at five.

Vassar continued the Divisional Championship on Saturday when it takes on Haverford at 12:00 p.m.
