Men's Track and Field Makes Final Preparations for Liberty League Championships at the West Point Tune-Up

Brewers will head to Ithaca for the indoor championships next weekend

West Point, NY - Senior Kai Chang earned a first place finish in the 3000 meters along with sophomore Max Frazee winning the Mile for the Vassar College Men's Track and Field team at the West Point Tune-Up.

Long Jump
  • Senior Max Bergman earned a bid into the finals and finished fifth overall with a leap of 6.28 meters.
  • Senior Jae Young Seo tallied a 17th place finish at 5.65 meters and first year Owen Gifford recorded a personal-best mark of 5.32 meters.
60 Meter Hurdles
  • Young Seo finished ninth overall for the Brewers with a time of 9.22.
Shot Put
  • Sophomore Adam Finnimore reached the finals and finished in sixth place with a career-best toss of 12.18 meters.
  • Bergman scored a top-15 finish with a distance of 9.61 meters.
Pole Vault
  • Bergman earned a ninth place finish with a mark of 3.50 meters.
60 Meters
  • First year Ryan Fernandes finished 21st overall with a time of 7.43 followed by junior Jacob Sellitti in 22nd position in 7.46.
  • Gifford posted a personal-best time of 7.83 for a top-30 finish.
Mile
  • Vassar took three of the top four spots in the mile as Frazee earned a first place finish in 4:28.02.
  • Senior Jackson Bernreuter was third overall in 4:32.75 followed by classmate senior Levi Lilienthal in fourth with a time of 4:36.12.
  • First year Zeke DeMercurio scored a 16th place finish with a time of 5:01.96 and senior John Hurly finished 18th in 5:06.76.
400 Meters
  • Junior Xavier Silverio tallied a 16th place finish with a time of 59.19.
500 Meters
  • Sophomore Joshua Garraway raced to a second place finish with a personal-best time of 1:12.71.
800 Meters
  • Sophomore Sean Miller earned a second place finish in a personal-best time of 1:55.03 followed by senior Jose Magana in fifth place in 1:59.66.
  • Senior Tim Buchan scored a sixth place overall finish with a time of 2:00.50.
1000 Meters
  • Bergman finished seventh overall with a personal-best mark of 3:02.50.
200 Meters
  • Fernandes raced to a 14th place finish in 24.23 followed closely by Sellitti in 16th position with a time of 24.40.
3000 Meters
  • Chang was victorious with a career-best time of 8:43.90 followed by classmate Jason Cirrito in second in a personal-best mark of 8:47.73.
  • Bernreuter tallied a sixth place finish in a personal-best time of 8:59.17 along with junior Davis Anderson finishing seventh in a career-best mark of 9:02.34.
  • Senior Mikhail Medina scored a 13th place finish in 10:15.68.
4x400 Relay
  • The relay squad of Bernreuter, Cirrito, Lilienthal and senior Nick Redstone finished fourth overall with a time of 3:41.79.
Weight Throw
  • Finnimore scored a 14th place finish with a toss of 10.88 meters.

  • Vassar heads to the two-day Liberty League Championships on Friday at Ithaca College.
