Haverford, PA – The Vassar College Men's Squash team was back in action on Saturday, closing out the regular season with a 7-2 loss to Hobart and an 8-1 defeat to Haverford. Sophomore
Daniel Smith (Littleton, CO) won in both matchups for the Brewers.
Saturday's results drop Vassar to 5-9 overall on the season.
For The Brewers – Hobart
- Against the Statesmen, Smith was victorious at the ninth position after taking a 5-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-8 decision from Hobart's Mason Graham.
- Senior Patrick Looby (Westport, CT) was also a winner against Hobart, securing an 11-9, 11-4, 11-6 sweep playing at eight.
- At 10, Joseph Donato (Staten Island, NY) turned in a 6-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-9 victory in the exhibition match.
- Sophomore Gabriel Lugo (East Hartford, CT) suffered a hard fought 8-11, 12-10, 6-11, 5-11 defeat at seven.
- First Year Matthew Okulski (Portland, ME) was also topped in four games, suffering a tight 9-11, 11-13, 13-11, 10-12 defeat playing at four.
For The Brewers – Haverford
- Smith scored the Brewers' lone win against the Fords, producing a 12-10, 11-6, 4-11, 11-4 triumph at nine.
- Lugo again battled for the Brewers, suffering a tough 8-11, 8-11, 11-8, 5-11 defeat at seven.
- Kyle Benson (Bronx, NY) went the distance for Vassar at three, succumbing to Haverford's Kai Thomas Schinaman by scores of 8-11, 11-4, 11-7, 6-11, 8-11.
