Troy, NY - The Liberty League announced its weekly award winners in men's basketball on Monday afternoon as Vassar College junior guard
Avery Lee was named the league's Performer of the Week.
Lee led the Brewers to the Hochberg Tip-Off Tournament title this past weekend as the junior garnered 26.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game in the two victories over SUNY Geneseo and Hartford. Lee shot a blistering 52.9-percent from the field, including 47.6-percent from beyond the three-point line, while also going a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line.
In the win over the Knights, Lee finished with 18 points (6-for-12 shooting), eight assists and four rebounds before pouring in a career-high 35 points (12-for-22 FG, 8-for-14 3PT), four rebounds and two assists in the championship game victory over the Hawks. Lee was named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player following his efforts in the two games over the weekend.
Vassar (2-0) returns to the court on Friday and Saturday for the Hudson Valley Classic where the Brewers will take on New Paltz at Mount Saint Mary at 5:30 p.m. on Friday before heading to New Paltz to square off with Mount Saint Mary at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
