Yonkers, NY – The Vassar College Women's Soccer team picked up its second straight shutout victory to open the season on Wednesday night following a 3-0 road win at Sarah Lawrence. Senior captain

Laura Shea (Swarthmore, PA) and senior
JD Reigrut (Lone Tree, CO) combining on the shutout in goal.
Wednesday's victory pushes Vassar to 2-0 on the season and with the victory the Brewers are outscoring their opponents 11-0. Sarah Lawrence falls to 1-1 following its first loss of the season.
How It Happened
- First Year Alice Crowley (St. Louis, MO) broke a scoreless tie in the 23rd minute when she finished off her team leading fourth goal of the season at the 22:27 mark of the contest. Cecelia Wager (Brookline, MA) set up the marker, picking up the first point of her career.
- The Crowley goal was the only tally of the opening 45 minutes, with Vassar finishing the first half with a commanding 12-1 advantage in shots.
- The Brewers took the only three corner kicks of the first half on Wednesday.
- The game remained 1-0 until the 67th minute when Wilkes struck with her first goal of the contest. Riley McGrath (Coronado, CA) assisted on the tally, marking her first point of the season.
- Wilkes found the back of the net for a second time and closed out the scoring in the game at 82:00 when she finished off a feed from First Year Liv Ivie (Agoura Hills, CA) to give the Brewers the final 3-0 advantage.
- Vassar closed the second half with a 7-5 edge in shots, while Sarah Lawrence held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks after halftime.
