Poughkeepsie, NY – The top seeded #32 Vassar College Women's Tennis teams begins its quest for a Liberty League Championship Saturday afternoon when it takes on fifth seeded Union in the Semifinal Round of the league championship tournament. Matches with the Garnet Chargers are set to begin at 2:15 at the Reis Tennis Center on the campus of Cornell University with Live Scoring available for those unable to attend.
Vassar earned the top seed in the 2024 championship after posting a 15-3 overall record over the course of the regular season, including an unbeaten 8-0 mark against Liberty League rivals. Union enters Saturday's contest at 11-7 following an upset of fourth seeded St. Lawrence on Friday.
Doubles
- The Brewers dominated doubles play over the course of the regular season, posting a 37-13 mark (.740) overall and a 14-3 (.824) record against conference foes.
- The top pair of Erin McCusker (Norton, MA) and Macey Dowd (Orinda, CA) posted a 10-7 mark overall for the Brewers.
- Iris Li and First Year Maddie Kirby (Davidson, NC) hold a 12-4 record, with 11 victories coming at the second position.
