Henry Zhang (Zhengzhou, China) each won their ninth singles matches of the season in the win.
With five straight victories, Vassar improves 11-4 overall on the season and to 5-1 in Liberty League play. Union slips to 4-10 overall and 2-4 against conference rivals.
Doubles
- Vassar got off to a good start on Saturday, opening a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles competition.
- Playing together for the first time this season and at the top position, Fernando Bauermeister (Winter Park, FL) and Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) posted an 8-4 victory on Saturday.
- Zhang teamed with Ethan Mantell (Hermosa Beach, CA) for the second time season at the second slot and produced a hard fought 8-6 victory for the Brewers.
- At third doubles, Wong and Pedro Cattaruzzi (Chatham, NJ) moved to 2-0 on the season as a unit with an 8-4 victory.
Singles
- Wong moved into a tie for the team lead in singles wins on Saturday with a 6-4, 6-1 win at the top flight. Saturday's win improves Wong's record on the season to 9-6.
- Zhang also moved into a three-way tie for the team lead in singles wins with a 6-1, 6-1 fourth singles win. The victory gives Zhang a sixth straight victory and a 9-3 record on the season.
- Benjamin Almquist (Union Pier, MI) won for the fifth straight outing on Saturday and moved to 7-5 on the season with a 6-3, 6-3 second singles triumph.
- Mantell won his fourth straight singles decision and moved to 8-3 on the season with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the fifth position.
