Rochester, NY – The #42 Vassar College Men's Tennis team pushed its winning streak to four matches on Sunday following a 7-2 road Liberty League victory at RIT.
Jay Wong (Hong Kong) and First Year
Henry Zhang (Zhengzhou, China) each won their eighth singles matches of the season in the victory.
Sunday's victory improves Vassar's overall record to 10-4 overall and to 4-1 against league rivals, while RIT falls to 5-8-1 overall and 1-5 in Liberty League play.
Doubles
- Vassar took the second and third doubles matches on Sunday, opening a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.
- Playing for the first time as a doubles pair this season, Zhang and Ethan Mantell (Hermosa Beach, CA) scored an 8-4 victory at the second position on Sunday.
- Also playing together for the first time this season, Pedro Cattaruzzi (Chatham, NJ) and Wong posted an 8-4 third doubles triumph for the Brewers.
Singles
- Wong continued a strong senior season on Sunday, scoring a hard fought 7-6 (10-8), 6-2 victory at the top flight to improve to 8-6 on the season.
- Benjamin Almquist (Union Pier, MI) won his fourth straight singles decision on Sunday, posting a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the second slot to move to 6-5 on the season.
- Zhang moved up to the third position for the first time this spring and earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Sunday's victory moved Zhang to 8-3 in singles play on the season.
- Mantell won for the third straight outing in singles play and improved to 7-3 on the season following a 6-3, 6-2 win at the fourth slot.
- Playing in his first singles match of the season, Miles Sondergaard Jensen (Newton, MA) eased to a 6-3, 6-2 sixth singles victory for Vassar.

- Vassar will continue conference play on April 20 when its plays host to Union.
- RIT plays host to Hobart on Wednesday.
