Ethan Mantell (Hermosa Beach, CA) won for the fourth time in singles play for the Brewers.
Wednesday's win pushes Vassar to 6-2 overall on the season with the loss dropping Bates to 2-6 through eight matches.
Doubles
- Vassar battled to a pair of doubles victories on Wednesday over the Bobcats.
- Fernando Bauermeister (Winter Park, FL) and Henry Zhang (Zhengzhou, China) improved to 3-3 as a unit with a hard fought 8-7 (7-0) second doubles victory.
- At third doubles, Pedro Cattaruzzi (Chatham, NJ) and First Year Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) improved to 4-3 on the season with an 8-3 triumph on Wednesday.
Singles
- After grabbing a 2-1 lead through doubles play, the Brewers saw Bates earn victories at the first three singles positions, including a 7-5, 6-7 (0-7), 6-1 win for Theo Sardain at the third flight.
- Benjamin Almquist (Union Pier, MI) won for the second time this season in singles play after easing to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the fourth slot.
- Mantell earned a 6-4, 6-0 fifth singles win for the Brewers to move to 4-2 on the season in singles play.
- Zhang continued a strong rookie season with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at the sixth position that clinched the victory for the Brewers.
