Brewers Topped By #29 Wesleyan To Open CSA Team Championship

Vassar takes on Fordham Saturday morning

Philadelphia, PA – The Vassar College Men's Squash team opened the 2024 CSA Team Championship Friday afternoon with a 9-0 loss to #29 Wesleyan. The Brewers will continue the tournament Saturday morning when thewy tussle with Fordham.

Friday's loss drops Vassar to 6-11 overall on the season.

First Year Jay Vashisht (Short Hills, NJ) dropped a hard fought 3-1 decision at two to the Cardinal's Abhinav Gupta. After dropping the first two frames, Vashist rallied for an 11-7 victory in the third before dropping the deciding set 11-5.
Fellow First Year Gabriel Lugo (East Hartford, CT) also battled for Vassar at nine dropping a tightly contested 3-0 decision. Lugo was edged 14-12 and 13-11 over the first two sets before Wesleyan's Cole Zetterquist closed out the match with an 11-5 win in the third.
First Year Konstantinos Georgallides (Limassol, Cypress) also put together a strong showing for Vassar at three in a tight 5-11, 13-15, 7-11 defeat.
Jarid Haslinger (Los Angles, CA) pushed Ethan Yang from Wesleyan in a hard fought 7-11, 7-11, 4-11 decision at five.
Playing a six, senior Razaan Lalji (West Vancouver, BC) dropped a tough 7-11, 4-11, 8-11 decision.

What's Next

Vassar continues the 2024 CSA Team Championship Tournament at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning when it takes on #33 Fordham.
