Wednesday's win is Vassar's second straight to open league play and fifth in the last six outings, improving to 7-2 overall on the season and 2-0 in Liberty League play. Bard falls to 5-5 overall and 0-3 in conference action.
How It Happened
- Vassar scored the only goal of the first half, the eventual game winner in the 27th minute.
- Following a foul in the box, Arden Tobolski (Chapel Hill, NC) converted a penalty kick at 26:42 for the only scoring of the opening 45 minutes.
- Vassar held a commanding 13-2 advantage in shots prior to halftime.
- The Brewers took two of the three first half corner kicks.
- Bard keeper, Julian Landau, kept the Raptors within a goal with six first half saves.
- Vassar doubled its lead early in the second half when Eli Torrey (Philadelphia, PA) tallied in the 55th minute.
- Torrey was on the end of a feed from Jared Fiske (Livingston, NJ) for his third goal of the season at the 54:18 mark of the contest.
- The Brewers put the game away 8:01 later when Fiske scored for the first time in five games. He collected a turnover from Bard's keeper and curled a shot into the top left corner at 62:19 to close out the scoring in the game.
- Vassar got off nine more shots after halftime and took the only three corner kicks of the second half.
- Raphan made a pair of saves after the intermission to preserve the shutout.

- Tobolski converted his team leading eighth goal of the season and posted his second game winning tally of the year.
