Brewers Open Fall Season On Day One Of Vassar Scramble

Richard L. Cretella Tennis Center hosts first event

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Women's Tennis team opened the brand new Richard L. Cretella Tennis Center on Friday afternoon, taking on Army West Point on Day One of the Vassar Fall Scramble. Play on the day was halted early due to weather.

Vassar will continue play in its first event of the fall on Saturday when New York University, New Paltz and Hamilton join the scramble.

How It Happened

Just one singles match was completed on Friday with Radha Raja (Nairobi, Kenya) battling hard in a 6-2 loss in the second flight.
In doubles competition, the duo of Iris Li (Palo Alto, CA) and Macey Dowd (Orinda, CA) competed in a 6-2 defeat in the second flight.
Raja and Ananya Krishnan (Chesterbrook, PA) teamed in a 6-1 third flight loss to the Division I Black Knights.
Also in third flight play, Maddie Kirby (Davidson, NC) and Sara Lippin (Chappaqua, NY) put together a strong showing in a 6-2 third flight loss.

What's Next

Play will continue in the scramble on Saturday at the Cretella Tennis Center weather permitting.
