Field Hockey Coasts to Second Straight Victory Against Ramapo

Four different Brewers score a goal in the 4-0 win

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Vassar College FIeld Hockey team won its second straight contest on Saturday afternoon as the Brewers rolled to a 4-0 victory over Ramapo at Weinberg Field. The Brewers' record improves to 4-1 overall while the Roadrunners fall to 1-3 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vassar scored for the first time at the 11:20 mark of the first quarter as senior Hailey Brigger put one past the goalkeeper on a penalty corner insert from classmate Alexa Gwyn.
  • Following a scoreless second quarter, the Brewers scored twice in the opening seven minutes of the second half as sophomore Sofia Beseth rifled one in the back of the net before senior Tori Baker tallied the third goal of the game on a rebound off a Gwyn shot.
  • Vassar earned its fourth and final goal of the game on a penalty stroke from senior Jaclyn Narleski with four minutes left in the third quarter.
FOR THE BREWERS
  • Beseth tallied her team-leading sixth goal of the season while Narleski recorded the third goal of the campaign.
  • Baker's goal was their first of the season while Brigger's point total increased to four on the year.
  • Senior Sarah Dumaresq registered the victory in goal in the first 45 minutes while first year Grace Wiley played the final 15 minutes.
  • Vassar didn't allow a shot in the contest
FOR THE ROADRUNNERS
  • Michelle Kukan took the loss in goal as she made four stops in 45 minutes of play.
  • Erika Roura made one save in her 15 minutes of action in net.
UP NEXT
  • Vassar takes on nationally-ranked Kean at home on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Ramapo plays host to New Paltz on Wednesday afternoon.
