POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Vassar College Baseball team scored eight runs in the first two innings to roll to a 11-1 victory over Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday afternoon at Prentiss Field. The Brewers improve to 14-7 overall while the Knights drop to 6-16 on the season.
Vassar opened up the scoring in the first inning as senior
Adam Talwalkar doubled home junior
Jack Silvera, who reached on a one-out triple. Senior
Ezra Caspi then singled home junior
Reid Lapekas and Talwalkar to go ahead 3-0 after one.
Mount Saint Mary scored a run in the top of the second as Joseph Laudati drove home Coleman Barnes on an infield single to cut the lead to 3-1. Sophomore
Ricardo Reyna led off the second with a walk and then was knocked in on a single through the right side from junior
Jaden Millstein. Talwalkar knocked in another run on a flyout to right field and then Lapekas laced a double to left center to score two runs to go ahead 8-1.
Both teams were scoreless throughout the next few innings until Talwalkar crushed a homer to straightaway center field for his third of the season. Senior
Alex Warren drove in a run on a single to center followed by sophomore
Daniel Laderman's RBI groundout to take the final 11-1 lead.

Michael Came earned his fourth win of the season as he went five innings and allowed three hits, one run, one walk and struck out three. Freshman

Joe Sabo tossed four scoreless innings in relief and struck out eight.
Ryan Lockhart took the loss as he lasted 1.1 innings, allowing six hits, six runs, two walks and struck out one. Christopher Snyder threw 3.1 scoreless innings out of the pen for the Knights and gave up no hits and struck out one.
Talwalkar finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI along with his third homer of the year. Lapekas added three hits along with two runs scored and two RBI. Millstein tallied two hits and had a RBI and a run scored along with two RBI from Caspi. Frank Signorelli had two hits for the Knights while Laudati drove in a run.
The Brewers return to conference play on Friday afternoon as they head to Skidmore for game one of a three-game series at 3:30 p.m. in Saratoga Springs.
