ITHACA, NY - The third-seeded Vassar College Men's Tennis team advanced to the Liberty League Championship Semifinal on Friday afternoon as the Brewers defeated sixth-seeded St. Lawrence 5-2. Vassar will take on second-seeded Hobart on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman 
Ethan Mantell and sophomore 
James Balon earned the lone win at doubles for Vassar as they earned an 8-5 victory over Edvin Strandberg and John Hill Edgar at three. Adam Heilbronner and Broderick Pinto tallied an 8-4 win over freshman pair 
Russell Oh and 
Miles Sondergaard Jensen at two while Nathan Turtledove and Ben Moolman recorded a hard-fought 8-7 (7-4) triumph over freshmen duo 
Fernando Bauermeister and 
Nolan Kubiak at one.
Vassar won all four of the singles matches to clinch the match victory as Balon tallied a 6-1, 6-2 win over Hill-Edgar at five. Three saw Kubiak triumph 6-2, 6-1 against Pinto followed by Bauermeister defeating Turtledove 6-4, 6-2 at one. Mantell sealed the victory for Vassar with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Moolman at six.
The Brewers will take on the Statesmen at 5:00 p.m. in the Liberty League Championship Semifinal at the Reis Tennis Center on the campus of Cornell University.
