Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Freshman Erin McCusker earned a hard-fought victory at second singles to clinch a 5-4 victory for the Vassar College Women's Tennis team against RPI on Wednesday afternoon in the final match at the Josselyn Tennis Courts. The Brewers improve to 9-5 overall and 5-1 in Liberty League action while the Engineers move to 11-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

RPI took all three points in doubles action as Alex Mednikova and Rani Jones defeated sophomore Macey Dowd and freshman Iris Li 8-6 at two followed by Nikki RIdenour and Lorna Flores Gonzalez triumphing 8-5 over junior Sofie Shen and freshman Erin McCusker at one. Masha Karach and Brooke Bauer earned a hard-fought 8-7 (8-4) at three against senior Tatum Blalock and sophomore Elyse Duley.

Freshman Ananya Krishnan earned a victory by retirement at sixth singles followed by Li tallying a 6-3, 6-1 win over Bauer at five. Dowd took a 6-1, 6-3 win over Ridenour at first singles followed by L. Flores Gonzalez earning a 6-2, 6-1 win over Blalock. Shen battled for a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory at four over Jones before McCusker recorded the winning point at two by a 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) over Mednikova.

Vassar will head to Union on Friday afternoon for a 5:00 p.m. match before facing off against Skidmore on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
