POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Vassar College Baseball team scored 10 runs in the final four offenisve innings to comeback from a 6-1 deficit to defeat CCNY 11-7 on Wednesday afternoon at Prentiss Field. The Brewers improve to 15-10 overall while the Beavers drop to 6-12 on the season
The Beavers got on the board in the top of the first when Michael Chasanov doubled home John Creegan and Jonathan Rivera to take a 2-0 lead. CCNY tacked on another run in the second when a Rivera fielder's choice groundout chased home Rich Cirigliano to push the lead to three.
A bases loaded walk for CCNY drawn by Eric Romero gave the Beavers a 4-0 lead before Vassar got on the board on a sacrifice fly by senior
Ezra Caspi, which plated junior
Jaden Millstein who led the inning off with a single.Â
CCNY expanded its lead back to four runs after Chasanov tallied his third RBI of the game on a sacrifice fly after Rivera led the inning off with a triple to left field. The Beavers tallied another in the fifth as Ethan Angress drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a sac bunt by Eric Romero and then scored following an infield single by Tyler DiBlasi and a VC throwing error.
Vassar cut the lead to two in the fifth as senior
Andrew Kanellis led off with a single followed by a walk by Caspi before senior
Adam Talwalkar blasted his fourth homer of the year to make it 6-4.Â

Jack Silvera to load the bases, Talwalkar singled through the left side to tie the game at six in the sixth. Sophomore
Ricardo Reyna gave Vassar its first lead of the night on a ground-rule double to left center to score two and push the Brewers ahead 8-6.
CCNY trimmed the lead down to one on a Chasanov RBI single that scored Rivera in the seventh before Silvera's double to left center plated Kanellis with two outs to push the lead back to 9-7. The Brewers added two insurance runs in the eighth as junior
Ty Murray singled up the middle to score Reyna followed by a safety squeeze bunt by sophomore
Marc Milano that plated sophomore

Danny Wellner started for Vassar as he threw two-plus innings, allowing three hits, four runs (two earned), four walks and struck out one. Senior
Joe Sabo took the win in relief as he tossed 1.1 scoreless innings followed by senior
Bryce Grathwohl picking up the save as he tossed three innings, allowing three hits, one run, two walks and struck out five.
Matthew Kue took the no-decision on the mound for CCNY as he went five innings, allowing seven hits, four runs, four walks and struck out five. Victor Murra Schott took the loss in relief as he lasted 0.2 innings and gave up five hits, four runs, one walk and struck out one.
Talwalkar finished with two hits and five RBI while Millstein recorded a 3-for-5 day with two runs scored. Reyna, Herring-Jackson, Silvera and Kanellis each tallied two hits on the day for Vassar. Chasanov went 3-for-5 for CCNY and drove in three while Rivera and Montanile tallied two hits each and Rivera scored three runs.
Vassar will return to conference action on Saturday afternoon as the Brewers will take on RIT for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
