POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Junior
Jack Silvera blasted a walkoff grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Vassar College Baseball team earned a 17-13 victory over RIT on Saturday afternoon. The Brewers improve to 16-10 overall and 3-4 in conference action while the Tigers move to 12-9 overall and 5-3 in league play.
The Tigers scored three runs in the top of the first as Chris Reilly doubled home Randy Dodig and Jalin Moses followed by Reilly scoring on a double steal attempt to make it 3-0. Junior

Jaden Millstein in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead to two.
Kyle Poorman's RBI double in the second plated Zach Mecca before Dodig's sacrifice fly scored Poorman to push the Tigers lead to 5-1. The Brewers tied it at five in the third as senior
Andrew Kanellis blasted a three-run homer to score Millstein and sophomroe
Ricardo Reyna along with Lapekas scoring a double steal attempt to even the score.
RIT added a run in the fourth to take the lead at 6-5 on a wild pitch before the Brewers put up three in the bottom half as Millstein tripled home senior
Ezra Caspi and then scored on an infield single by Kanellis. Lapekas gave Vassar a 8-6 advantage on a RBI single that scored Kanellis after four innings.Â
The Tigers regained the lead in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Mecca and an infield RBI single from Poorman to tie it at eight before a two RBI single from Dodig scored Adam Marsh and Poorman. Ian Libby's RBI ground out put the Tigers up 11-8 after four and a half.

Ty Murray before Vassar tied the game at 11 following a RBI double from Caspi and Murray scoring on a wild pitch int he sixth.
Bergman's two RBI triple plated Lapekas and senior
Adam Talwalkar in the seventh to take a 13-11 lead before the Tigers evened the score at 13 on a RBI double from Moses and a RBI single from John Bagley.
In the bottom of the ninth, Lapekas, Bergman and Murray all singled with one out to put the winning run at third base. Then, with two outs, Silvera blasted his second homer of the season and walked it off with a grand slam to give the Brewers a 17-13 lead.
Senior
Ryan Harris started for Vassar as he went two innings, allowing three hits, five runs, three walks and struck out one. Senior
Zach Magee earned the win in relief as he tossed three innings, giving up three hits, two runs and struck out two.Â
John Arnold took a no-decision for RIT as he threw three-plus innings, allowing five hits, five runs (three earned), one walk and struck out one. Reagan Farley took the loss as he tossed 1.1 innings, allowing four hits and four runs in relief.
Lapekas and Bergman each recorded four hits and two RBI while Millstein tallied three hits and two RBI. Kanellis added two hits and four RBI while Silvera knocked in four runs for the Brewers. Bagley and Poorman each registered three hits for the Tigers while Dodig had three RBI and Reilly added two hits and two RBI.Â
The second game of the doubleheader was postponed following inclement weather and lightning in the area. The Brewers will return to action against Rochester for a doubleheader tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.
