MAHWAH, NJ - The Vassar College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams opened up the first of the two-day event at the Ramapo College Invitational on Friday afternoon with the Brewers competing in the 5000-meters and the shot put.
The women's 5000-meters opened the day for Vassar as freshman Anika Mueller-Hickler was the first place finisher for the Brewers as she crossed the finish line with a time of 18:47.87, defeating the next closest finisher by 14 seconds, while sophomore Anna Kaigle finished in fourth place in 19:29.05. Mikhail Medina scored a 18th overall finish with a time of 16:58.45.
In the women's shot put, senior Emily Tincher finished 14th overall with a mark of 9.44 meters while freshman Lila Miller tallied a 21st place finish with a distance of 8.74 meters. Freshman
Justin White recorded a 10th place finish at 12.22 meters while sophomore
Max Bergman was 19th with a mark of 9.16 meters in the men's event.
The Brewers will return to action tomorrow afternoon with the first events beginning at 12:00 p.m. due to the forecasted weather.
