POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Luc Swedlund scored seven goals for Stockton as the Ospreys defeated the Vassar College Men's Lacrosse team 17-12 on Tuesday afternoon at Gordon Field. The Brewers move to 7-4 on the season while Stockton improves to 8-2 overall.
The Ospreys opened up the contest with the only four goals in the first quarter as Ryan Anderson, Reegan Capozzoli, Dante Poli and Swedlund each recorded a tally.

Holden Anderson started a streak of goals from the Brewers in the second quarter as senior

Troy Santise also scored to cut the lead to 4-3 at the 11:57 mark. Capozzoli scored his second of the game from Robbie O'Brien before junior

Nate Johnson with 7:20 to go. Stockton scored three straight from Swedlund to push its lead to 8-4 until junior
Dan Negron fired one past the goalie with 4:46 left in the half. Noam Levy-Smith gave the Ospreys a 9-5 lead heading into halftime after scoring just before time expired.
Colin Hopkins scored for Stockton on the man-up to start the second half before the Brewers cut the deficit down to two after tallies from senior

Solomon Hess' sweet behind the back goal trimmed the lead down to 11-9 after three quarters.
Negron scored his second goal in the early stages of the fourth quarter on an assist from freshman
Baker Morton to cut it down to one. The Ospreys rattled off six straight goals in a seven minute window as Swedlund and Hayden Smallwood combined for five of them to go up 17-10 with 6:08 to go. Senior

Anderson Eads tallied back-to-back goals for Vassar in the final four minutes.
Santise and Negron each scored twice for Vassar while eight other Brewers recorded a goal. Anderson and Santise both picked up five ground balls while Hess finished with five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Olds also tallied three caused turnovers and two ground balls while freshmen

Jack Bagin took the loss in goal as he made 14 saves and picked up five ground balls.
Swedlund finished with seven goals and three ground balls for Stockton while Smallwood added three goals. Capozzoli and Anderson each had four points while Tyler Horvath tallied 10 ground balls. Matt Gibson recorded three ground balls and three caused turnovers along with Steven Woolery finishing with two caused turnovers and three ground balls. Collin Bernstein earned the win in goal as he made 14 saves and tallied seven ground balls.
Vassar returns to conference play on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Skidmore. Face-off with the Thoroughbreds is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
