POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Three players recorded four points apiece for the Vassar College Men's Lacrosse team as the Brewers defeated Swarthmore 15-7 in its home opener in the snowy conditions on Saturday afternoon. Vassar improves to 1-1 on the season while the Garnet falls to 2-1 overall.

Ian Zumpano opened up the scoring for Vassar on an assist from senior
Riley Olds at the 10:53 mark before the Garnet drew even 25 seconds later on a goal from Nolan Ohrman. Vassar regained the lead at the end of the quarter on another goal from Zumpano to go ahead 3-2 after one quarter.
Swarthmore's Owen Hoffman buried a shot in the back of the net to tie the game at four apiece before the Brewers scored three straight from Olds, junior

Nate Johnson picking up two assists. Cooper Bucklan slowed the Vassar scoring run with a goal at the 3:59 mark before sophomore

TJ Carl tallied goals to give the Brewers a 9-5 edge at the half.
Vassar extended its lead to 12-5 with 3:56 left in the third quarter as rookie
Baker Morton found the back of the net twice, both on O'Hara assists, while freshman
Anderson Eads added a goal off a feed from Johnson. Olds and Zumpano both scored in the final minute and a half of the third to push the lead to 14-6. Junior
Dylan McFarland's goal at the 2:22 mark of the fourth quarter finished the scoring on the day for the Brewers for its first win of the season.
Olds, Santise and O'Hara each had four points for the Brewers while Zumpano scored three goals on the day. Junior
Solomon Hess had a game-high five ground balls and also added two caused turnovers. Sophomore
Holden Anderson was 13-for-21 in faceoffs while sophomore
Drew Amirsakis added two caused turnovers. Senior
Jack Bagin earned the win in goal for the Brewers with five saves on the day.
Von Mabbs led the way with Swarthmore with two goals and an assist while Bucklan added a goal and two assists. Ryan Pretzer picked up a team-high four ground balls while Connor Toomey tallied a team-high two caused turnovers. Pretzer made 19 saves in net for the Garnet.
The Brewers will head north on Wednesday evening against Keene State in non-conference action. The matchup with the Owls is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
