STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Vassar College Men's and Women's Track and Field squads returned to action at the Fasttrack National Invite at Ocean Breeze which included Division I, Division II, Division III as well as junior college schools.
In the men's 3000-meter run, sophomore
Levi Lilienthal recorded a time of 9.11.68 and was the top finisher for Vassar with a 44th place finish. Freshman Anika Mueller-Hickler finished with a time of 10:59.38 and finished in 26th position in the women's 3000-meter run. Freshman
Davis Anderson recorded a 10th place finish in the men's 5000-meter run in 15:20.23 while freshman
Kai Chang finished in 15:44.20 for a 24th place finish.
Freshman Jahmilia Dennis tallied another strong meet for the Brewers with a 9.33 in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries to qualify and then finished in 9.41 in the finals for a 7th place finish and was the top DIII finisher. In the men's race, sophomore
Jae Young Seo posted a time of 9.60 and finished 14th overall.
In the 60-meter dash, sophomore Traci Francis finished in 8.06 in 22nd place while in the "college" race, senior Lola Perez-Fry was 10th in 8.29 and freshman Jamie Eu crossed the finish line in 8.41 for 12th place. Junior
Rey Claro was the top men's finisher with a time of 7.90.
Junior Ava Novak tallied a 15th overall finish in the women's 200-meters in 26.09 and was the third DIII finisher. Junior
Darnell Worley crossed the line in 23.95 in the men's race for the top finish for Vassar. In the men's 400-meters, senior
Tucker Quinlan posted a time of 55.22 while freshman Freja Niklasson finished in a time of 1:04.56 in the women's race.
The Brewers had two top 30 finishes in the men's 800-meters as sophomore
Nick Redstone was 25th in 2:00.54 while senior
Lukas Muzila finished right behind in 26th place with a time of 2:00.69. Sophomore Jordan Norman recorded a strong time of 2:36.36 as the top finisher for VC in the women's race.
Senior Augusta Stockman 5:08.19 was the second DIII finisher in the 1 mile run in 5:08.19 and finished 11th overall. In the men's race, sophomore
Tim Buchan crossed the finish line in 4:21.13 and 19th place while sophomore
Jose Magana finished in 37th with a time of 4:28.71.
In the men's shot put, freshman
Justin White recorded a top 35 finish with a mark of 12.90m while freshman Lila Miller tallied a mark of 9.03m in the women's shot put.
Perez-Fry tallied a mark of 5.26m in the long jump and was the top DIII finisher and was 10th overall. In the "college" long jump, sophomore Faye Stevens had a mark of 4.71m, good for 9th overall and was the second DIII finisher while junior Heather Kwafo was 13th with a 4.68m mark. Dennis finished their strong night with a 11.39m mark in the triple jump and finished 7th overall and was the top DIII finisher.
Vassar will head to Army next weekend for the West Point Tune-Up on Saturday, February 18th.
