Men’s Squash Suffers Senior Day Losses To Connecticut College, Haverford

Rithik Jalali recognized at Saturday’s home matches

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's Squash team returned to the Kenyon Courts on Saturday and was topped 6-3 against both Connecticut College and Haverford. Senior Rithik Jalali (Dubai, UAE) was honored on Saturday as the lone senior on the men's roster.
 
Saturday's losses drop Vassar to 4-6 overall on the season.
 
For The Brewers – Connecticut College
  • The Brewers took victories at the sixth, eighth and ninth positions against the Camels.
  • Jarid Haslinger (Los Angeles, CA) made shot work of the opponent at the sixth slot, cruising to an 11-5, 11-1, 11-4 sweep for the Brewers.
  • Kyle Benson (Bronx, NY) was also impressive at eight for Vassar, posting an 11-3, 11-5, 11-3 triumph.
  • At nine, First Year Gabriel Lugo (East Hartford, CT) took care of the opponent from the Camels in an 11-5, 11-1, 11-7 sweep.
  • Luke Chen (Bellevue, WA) put together a strong showing at four for the Brewers, battling hard in a 12-10, 2-11, 8-11, 5-11 defeat.
  • Patrick Looby (Westport, CT) also fell in four for Vassar in a hard fought 11-5, 8-11, 9-11, 5-11 decision at seven.
  • Jalali was in action at the top position for Vassar, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Camels' Hudson Dunn.
 
For The Brewers – Haverford
  • Vassar took three more decisions in the second match of the day against the Fords, winning at three, six and nine.
  • Konstantinos Georgallides (Limassol, Cypress) scored a victory at three for Vassar, sweeping the opponent in an 11-5, 11-9, 12-10 decision.
  • Haslinger scored a second victory of the day at six against Haverford, going the distance in an 11-6, 7-11, 11-5, 10-12, 11-8 victory.
  • Lugo also went 2-0 on the day for the Brewers, outlasting the opponent from Haverford in a 10-12, 11-6, 11-7, 11-8 victory.
  • Looby dropped a hard fought 3-2 decision at seven, battling hard in a 6-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-7, 2-11 decision.
  • Chen at four and Benson at eight each were topped in four against Haverford.
 
What's Next
  • Vassar will be off from competition until January 20 when it plays host to Hobart.
