Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's Squash team got back on track after dropping its season opener on Friday with convincing 8-2 and 9-0 victories over Fordham and Boston University.
Saturday's triumphs improve Vassar's overall record to 2-1 on the season.
For The Brewers – Fordham
- The Brewers took the first four positions on Saturday.
- Rithik Jalali (Dubai, UAE) outlasted the opponent from Fordham at one, taking a hard fought 10-12, 11-7, 11-7, 11-1 victory.
- At two, Jay Vashisht (Short Hills, NJ) held off the opponent from Fordham in four games, taking a 11-6, 13-11, 11-13, 11-4 win for the Brewers.
- Making his Vassar debut, Konstantinos Georgallides (Limassol, Cyprus) rallied for a 9-11, 11-13, 11-1, 11-7, 11-9 win at three for Vassar.
- Luke Chen (Bellevue, WA) battled hard in a 13-11, 11-9, 11-7 victory.
- Jarid Haslinger (Los Angeles, CA) was in action at six and scored an 11-7, 11-3, 11-7 victory.
- Patrick Looby (Westport, CT) took care of the opponent at seven by scores of 11-6, 11-3, 11-3.
- Kyle Benson (Bronx, NY) was in action at eight and put together an 11-9, 11-4l, 11-7 triumph for the Brewers.
- At nine, First Year Gabriel Lugo (East Hartford, CT) scored an 11-4, 13-11, 11-5 victory.
For The Brewers – Boston University
- All but two contests against the Terriers ended in 3-0 decisions.
- Jalali was back in action at one, taking an 11-8, 11-8, 11-7 win.
- Vashist had to fight for a 19-17 first game win at two, but settled in to score 11-8 and 11-7 victories over the final two frames.
- Georgallides picked up a second win of the day at three for the Brewers, needing four frames in a 7-11, 11-7, 12-10, 13-11 triumph.
- Chen eased to an 11-6, 11-2, 11-3 at four for the Brewers.
- Razaan Lalji (West Vancouver, BC) took to the court and scored a win Saturday at five and produced an 11-8, 11-5, 4-11, 11-6 victory.
- Haslinger picked up a second win on the day with an 11-6, 11-4m 11-4 victory at six.
- Looby competed at seven for the Brewers and scored an 11-4, 11-2, 11-1 win.
- Benson was back in action at eight against the Terriers and went to work in an 11-7, 11-6, 11-4 win.
- Lugo won at nine by default to close out the sweep for Vassar.
