UTICA, N.Y. - Sophomore Max Bergman opened up the two-day Blue and Orange Invite at Utica College on Friday evening as he participated in the first four events of the men's heptathlon for the Vassar College Men's Track and Field team.

The night opened up with the 60-meter dash as Bergman finished fifth in his heat with a time of 7.86 and ranked 11th overall. The long jump was the next event as he finished in seventh position with a mark of 5.81 meters.

In the shot put, Bergman posted a mark of 8.69 meters and finished ninth overall. The sophomore concluded the day with by posting a mark of 1:58m which tied for seventh place overall.

Bergman currently sits at 10th place in the heptathlon with 2003 points after four events while Colgate's Cole Blair leads the way with 2832 points.

Vassar will return to action for the second day of the Blue and Orange Invite at Utica tomorrow morning.
