POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Action at the 2022 Vassar Scramble concluded on Sunday as the Vassar women's tennis team shifted action into the Walker Field House due to rain. The day's action saw doubles only amongst the four competing teams, including the Brewers, New Paltz, New York University and Hamilton College.

In the opening flight of action, Vassar's Iris Li and Sofie Shen combined for a 6-2 win over New Paltz's Loretta Donovan and Justine Stanejko. Sophomores Elyse Duley and Macey Dowd combined against NYU's Anastasiia Balyk and Jimena Menendez, falling by a 6-3 margin, while rookies Maya Thompson and Ananya Krishnan shouldered a tough 7-6 (5) loss to Hamilton's Claire Cutler and Shannon Cicero.

Flight two action saw Thompson and Krishnan pair up once again, posting a 6-0 win over New Paltz's Isabel van der Veen and Amirah Alston. Senior Tatum Blalock and rookie Erin McCusker fell by a 6-2 margin to NYU's Dakota Fordham and Ida Krause, while Dowd and Duley fell to Hamilton's Hannah Apsey and Stephanie Pratt, 6-0.

In the third flight, Blalock and McCusker powered their way to a 6-0 victory over New Paltz's Onalee Batcheller and Anya Barteck, while the wins continued as Thompson and Krishnan bested NYU's Karina Jensrud and Aditit Narayan, 6-4. Blalock and McCusker rounded out the flight wins against Hamilton, posting a 6-1 win over Shannon Cicero and Kate Solowey.

The fourth and final flight of action for the Brewers saw Dowd and Duley post a 6-1 win over New Paltz's Alex Chimenti and Lillian Nowak. Li and Shen paired up for a 6-4 win against NYU's Glenda Boeker and Hannah Chang, while the duo returned to the courts for a 6-0 win over Hamilton's Lila Freeman and Ally Turtledove to close out the action.

Vassar returns to the court for their final match of the fall semester, competing at the 2022 ITA Regional Championship. Action begins on September 23 through the 25th at Hamilton College.
