POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – A solid all-around effort propelled Vassar College to an 8-1 win over Union College in Liberty League women's tennis action on Saturday at Josselyn Courts. The 25th-ranked Brewers are now 14-2 overall and 7-0 in league play, while the Dutchwomen move to 5-7 and 3-5 in the Liberty League.
It was a great doubles effort for the Brewers as the third flight was first off as the duo of senior captain

Elyse Duley cruised to an 8-0 win over Rayna Katzman and Paige Trombleee.

Tatum Blalock notched an 8-2 win over Gabby Gatto and Kate Hirnak. The Brewers took a 3-0 lead into singles after sophomore

Melina Stavropoulos bested Marilena Karadimou and Gracie Nicol at one.
Singles action got underway with Stavropoulos garnering the 6-1, 6-0 win over Hirnak from four. The Dutchwomen earned their lone point of the match from two as Karadimou notched a 6-0, 6-0 win against Dowd.
Vassar secured the match victory with a Kizilbash win at five as she bested Hallie Katzman, 6-2, 6-1 for the 5-1 lead. Next off was Duley at six, earning the 6-1, 6-0 victory against Tromblee, while from three, Shen was a 6-1, 6-2 winner against Gatto.
Blalock closed out match play from one, earning a 6-4, 6-3 win over Nicol to conclude it for Vassar.
The Brewers return to action next Saturday, hosting Senior Day at Josselyn Courts. Vassar faces William Smith in the Liberty League regular season finale for both teams, match time is set for 2pm.
