CANTON, NY – Behind goals from 11 different players, the 11th-ranked St. Lawrence University posted a 19-7 win over Vassar College in Liberty League men's lacrosse action on Saturday. The Saints move to 10-2 with a 3-1 league mark, while the Brewers are now 6-6 and 1-4 in the Liberty League.
The Saints opened the game's scoring, but the Brewers battled back as a goal at the 11:24 mark of the first from junior midfielder

Troy Santise – made it a 1-all game. The Brewers added another score for the 2-1 lead a minute later as Olds sent a pass to senior middie

Despite the momentum, the Brewers were unable to hold off the homestanding Saints, who went on a 4-0 run to take a 5-2 advantage. Rookie attack
Shane O'Hara added a score in the final 25 seconds of the frame, but SLU took the 5-3 margin into the second quarter and continued to build with five straight goals scored to open the second stanza.
Five different players scored during the run, which saw the Saints go up by a 10-3 margin into the intermission.
Out of halftime, the Brewers opened with a score as senior midfielder
Tommy Van Pelt fired one in, but seven straight goals, including two into the opening of the fourth quarter, saw St. Lawrence open up a 17-4 margin.

Dan Negron scored to close the gap at 8:09 to 17-5. Sophomore attack
Ian Zumpano then buried a feed from Negron at 5:42 and the Brewers closed out the scoring for the final 19-7 margin as Negron earned his second assist with a pass to sophomore attack

St. Lawrence saw Chris Jordan record four goals with two assists, while Jack Hennessey also dropped in four goals. Ben Murtagh added two goals, while Josh Huiatt had two goals with three assists. Mark Mahoney added a goal and three assists as well, while Chase Malatesta had a goal and a helper. Brendan Brigham went 8-of-11 in the faceoff circle with seven ground balls and a caused turnover, while Joe Scarfi had four ground balls and three caused turnovers to pace the Saints. In goal, William Helm played 51:02, recording nine stops for the win. Michael Marinello played 3:16 of action with no saves, Andrew Vona had 1:37 of playing time with no saves, while Elliott LaGorce played 4:05 with two saves recorded.
For the Brewers, Negron had a goal with two assists, while Olds added a goal and a helper. Sophomore midfielder

Vassar returns to action next Saturday when it welcomes Clarkson University for Senior Day on Gordon Field. Action begins at 1pm. St. Lawrence is back on the field on Tuesday, also facing Clarkson on the road at 5pm.
