POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Vassar College men's squash team opened action at the 2022 Liberty League Championships on Saturday, competing on their home courts at Kenyon Hall. The Brewers defeated Bard, 8-1, but fell to Hobart and Rochester, 9-0 in each match.
Against the Raptors in victory, rookie
Jarid Haslinger posted an 11-3, 11-2, 11-4 win from two over Devon Wall. At three, senior captain
Reese Collins recorded an 11-7, 11-4, 11-3 victory against Alex Luscher, while senior
Liam Condon was an 11-0, 11-1, 11-2 winner against Jacob Nathan at four.Â

Alex Wisneski shouldered a tough, 11-8, 6-11, 11-8, 8-11, 8-11 loss to Martin Graham at the top of the ladder. The Brewers earned default victories at five through nine on the ladder.
In the opening match of the day against Hobart, Vassar saw sophomore
Rithik Jalali shoulder a 7-11, 7-11, 8-11 loss to Hussein Labib at the top of the ladder. From two, junior
Sameer Mustafa fell by a 3-11, 6-11, 5-11 margin to Omar Kiwan, while at three, senior
Henry Mitchell fell 3-11, 4-11, 4-11 to Mohamed Abdelhafez.
From four, rookie
Patrick Looby suffered a 5-11, 8-11, 6-11 defeat to Joey Raskin Lantos, while at five, senior
Max Swan fell 6-11, 5-11, 4-11 to Giacomo Dalle Molle. Six saw Wisneski shoulder a 1-11, 6-11, 3-11 loss to Roberto Vega, while from seven, Haslinger fell 4-11, 4-11, 7-11 to James Mazzarelli.
Collins fell 2-11, 6-11, 1-11 to Sayf Elhawary at eight, while from nine, Condon shouldered a 2-11, 6-11, 5-11 defeat to Cameron Temoyan.
The final match of the day against Rochester saw Jalali fall 5-11, 4-11, 5-11 at the top of the ladder to Cesar Segundo Corona, while Mustafa fell at two, 4-11, 5-11, 3-11 to Yash Fadte. Three saw Mitchell fall by a 2-11, 3-11, 2-11 margin to Luis Enrique Moncada Gonzalez.
From four, Looby suffered a 6-11, 5-11, 5-11 loss to Omar Zakaria, while five was a 5-11, 4-11, 2-11 loss by Swan to Alejandro Porras Diaz. At six, Wisneski fell 5-11, 5-11, 1-11 to Quinlan Jeudy, while seven was a 6-11, 8-11, 2-11 loss for Haslinger to Tom Whiteley.
Wrapping up the action was Collins at eight, who fell 5-11, 2-11, 3-11 to Varun Kumar, while at nine, Condon shouldered a 3-11, 2-11, 2-11 loss to Nicholas Gill.
The Brewers conclude action at this year's championship on Sunday when it hosts St. Lawrence University at Kenyon Courts. Match time is set for 10am.
