WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Vassar College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed in the first indoor meet in program history on Saturday at the Crowell Open at Gillis Field House on the campus of Army West Point. Sophomore
Tim Buchan finished sixth place overall in the 1 mile run and was the second overall Division III finisher.
In the pentathlon, sophomore
Max Bergman finished second in the 60m hurdles in 10.26 as well as the long jump at 6.22m. Bergman recorded 7.78m in the shot put and was second in the high jump at 1.63m. He concluded his efforts in the pentathlon with a time of 3:09.33 in the 1000 meters.Â
Sophomore
Jeremy Frank finished fifth in the men's pole vault with a mark of 4.00 meters while senior
Tucker Quinlan competed in the long jump with a mark of 5.16 meters as well as the triple jump at 11.60 meters.
Sophomore
Jae Young Seo opened up the track events for Vassar as he ran a 9.31 in the 60 meter hurdles for a fifth place finish in Heat 1. In the third heat of the 1 mile run, Buchan was the top finisher as he crossed the finish line in 4:34.33, which was good for sixth place overall along with being the second overall Division III finisher. Sophomore
Levi Lilienthal was second in the heat with a time of 4:52.44 and classmate
Jackson Bernreuter was fourth in 4:54.66.
Freshman
Xavier Silverio finished sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.89 while junior
Sam Lytel finished right behind him with a time of 2:12.60 as two of the top three Division III finishers. Quinlan continued their day on the track in the 200 meters as he finished in 25.51 while Seo crossed the finish line in 26.77.
Vassar will continue their indoor campaign at the Blue and Orange Invite, hosted by Utica on January 28th.
