ROCHESTER, NY - Behind a 16-9 advantage in overtime, the Vassar College women's basketball team defeated RIT by a 91-84 margin in Liberty League action on Saturday. The Brewers move to 18-7 overall with a 14-4 mark in the Liberty League. RIT slips to 11-14 and 9-9 in league play.
Vassar's win, coupled with a St. Lawrence loss to RPI, seals the second-seed in the upcoming Liberty League Tournament for the Brewers. Vassar earns the First Round bye and will now be in action on Saturday, traveling to tournament host, Ithaca College. They will face the winner of the #3 St. Lawrence vs. #6 RIT game at 3:30pm.

Jackie Cenan paced the Brewers on Saturday, recording 25 points with 10 rebounds, seven assists, a block and a steal. Classmate
Sophie Nick added 24 points with 12 boards, an assist and a steal, while senior
Isa Peczuh posted 16 points with three caroms, four assists and three steals. Junior
Ryan DeOrio also reached double figures in today's match, adding 11 points with three boards and two assists.
For RIT, Brooke Stanley posted 25 points with five rebounds, six assists a block and three steals. Sabrina Wolfe added 16 points, eight caroms and two steals, while Kaleesha Joseph notched 12 points, eight rebounds an assist and three steals. Alyssa Juergens led the Tigers in rebounds, adding 10 in the contest to go along with six points, three assists, a block and a steal.
Vassar owned a 71-64 lead at the 5:11 mark of the fourth quarter, but the Tigers battled back, taking a 72-71 lead on a trey from Wolfe at 2:33. Nick pulled the Brewers back ahead, but a layup from Megan Roy, coupled with a Stanley free throw pushed RIT out to a 75-73 advantage with 1:37 to go in regulation. Nick laid down a jumper to tie the game at the 1:18 mark and neither team could find the bucket over the final span to head into overtime.
The two teams traded buckets right off the bat in the extra session with the Brewers taking the 78-77 lead on a three-pointer by Peczuh. It would be a lead the Brewers would not relinquish as they went on an 8-0 run, including four points from sophomore
Sarah Gillooly down the stretch to seal the win.
This marks the third straight appearance in the postseason for the Brewers, who advanced to the Liberty League Semifinals a season ago.
