SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Both teams entered the day undefeated in the Liberty League, but Skidmore managed the 8-1 victory over Vassar to take the top spot in the Liberty League. Sophomore 
Meghan Rodick managed the lone Brewers win in the day.
 
"Both teams demonstrated an extremely high level of play in this match," said head coach 
Kathy Campbell. "The points were long and well-constructed. We continue to improve every week."
 
The Thoroughbreds pulled off a commanding sweep in doubles play. 
Frances Cornwall and 
Tara Edwards fell 8-3, while 
Sarra Yekta and 
Melina Stavropoulos dropped the 8-4 decision. 
Morgane Flournoy and 
Ashley Fair then lost at the third court.  
 
Cornwall's winning streak as finally snapped by Risa Fukushige by marks of 6-3, 6-3. Yekta, Edwards, Stavropoulos and Flournoy all lost from the two to five spots. Rodick tallied the win against Skidmore at the No. 6. She won a tough 7-6 opening set and then went 6-1 in the final.
 
Vassar closes their regular season next Sunday against RIT in their senior day at Josselyn Courts at 12:30 p.m.
