POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – It's the first day of spring, and the Vassar women's lacrosse team celebrated the improving weather with a dominating 20-2 win over Mount Saint Mary on Wednesday afternoon. Three players recorded hat tricks as Vassar rolled to their third-straight victory.

In total, 10 Brewers scored in the win. Senior
Lindsay Wolk (Parkland, FL) and junior
Tessa Waters (Skokie, IL) each had five points on three goals and two assists, while freshman
Melanie Silverman (Southbury, CT) tallied two goals and three assists. Senior
Gabi Patick (East Rockaway, NY) recorded a hat trick with three goals on three shots. Freshman
Caeli Porette (Stony Point, NY), sophomore
Alessandra Fable (Orlando, FL) and
Maya Barrett-Tzannes (Lexington, MA) each had two goals. Barrett-Tzannes' goal was the first of her career.
Kelly Pushie (Mahwah, NJ),
Fiona MacLeod (Garden City, NY) and
Sara Mathes (Philadelphia, PA) all scored once.

With the win, Vassar improves to 3-2 overall, while the Knights drop to 0-5.

Vassar scored quickly as Waters found the back of the net less than minutes into the contest. Fable and Pushie then scored in a span of 40 seconds to take a 3-0 lead at 24:49. After Mount Saint Mary slipped a goal, the Brewers scored the next 15 goals with nine more coming in the first half. After 30 minutes of action, Vassar led 12-1.

After allowing only three Knights' shots in the first, the defense remained stingy in the second with just four Mount Saint Mary shot attempts. Vassar netted four goals in the opening four minutes of the second and then scored four more times before the final horn.

Emily Hamburger (Clarksville, MD) finished with three assists, while
Haydn Hallman (Bechtelsville, PA) and
Kaela Parentis (Clarence Center, NY) each dished out an assist.

The Brewers held an 18-6 draw control advantage and outshot the Knights 24-7. Freshman
Jackie Molloy (Buffalo Grove, IL) picks up her third win in goal and made four saves.

Vassar opens Liberty League play on Saturday against St. Lawrence. Game starts at 1 p.m. at Weinberg Field.
