PASADENA, CA – Sophomore
Frances Cornwall (Poway, CA) remains undefeated this spring break, tallying the 6-4, 6-1 upset against No. 20 CalTech's Kana Moriyama at the first position. The Brewers tandem of
Melina Stavropoulos (Atherton, CA) and
Sarra Yekta (Las Vegas, NV) took the 8-4 second doubles win as well.

Cornwall controlled the entire match, never playing from behind. She kept her opponent off balance with penetrating ground strokes and finishing balls. After being down 3-0, Stavropoulos and Yekta rallied to give Vassar its second win of the day.

Yekta fell 6-2, 7-5 at the No.2, while CalTech's Michelle Hyun defeated
Tara Edwards (Littleton, CO) 6-4, 6-1 at the third. Stavropoulos and
Morgane Flournoy (Grosse Pointe, MI) lost at the four and five, respectively. No. 6
Joyce Park (Gig Harbor, WA) won 6-3 in the first game, but fell 6-2 in the second. She was then edged 10-8 in the third-set tiebreaker.

At doubles, Cornwall and Edwards dropped the 8-4 decision at the first. Flourney and
Meghan Rodick (Kapolei, HI) fell 8-3 at the third doubles.
