ANNANDALE-on-HUDSON, NY - The Vassar College men's squash team closed out a successful weekend on Sunday, posting a 9-0 victory over Colgate University at the Bard College Round Robin. With the win, the Brewers are now 4-2 on the season.
From the top of the ladder, freshman
Sameer Mustafa recorded a 3-0 (11-3, 11-4, 11-9) win against Thomas Sneeringer. At two, junior
Milind Joshi battled back from a 2-0 deficit to come-from-behind with a 3-2 (7-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-7) victory over Zander Salnikoff.
The three position saw sophomore
Henry Mitchell also gut out a solid victory, driving his way back from a 2-1 deficit for a 3-2 (11-9, 9-11, 3-11, 11-9, 11-7) win of his own over Matthew Rose. Freshman
Matthew Hein then squared-off against Michael Malof at four, earning a 3-1 (10-12, 11-5, 11-5, 11-2) victory.
Sophomore
Alexander Wisneski picked up the win at five, besting Alexander Gellert, 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-7), while classmate
Reese Collins recorded a 3-0 (11-1, 11-6, 11-5) win from six. Sophomore
Max Swan was victorious from seven with a 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-7) win, while at eight, classmate
William Condon had a 3-1 (8-11, 11-3, 11-9, 11-7) win.
Rounding out the action was sophomore
Jonah Miles, who had a 3-0 (11-9, 11-9, 11-6) victory at nine.
The Brewers return to action next weekend when they head to Maine. VC will play at Bowdoin (10am) and at Bates (3pm) on Saturday, before closing out the action at Colby (11am) on Sunday.
