ANNANDALE-on-HUDSON, NY – It was a dominant Sunday afternoon for the Vassar women's tennis team, which posted a 9-0 victory over Bard College in Liberty League action. The Brewers are now 1-0 on the season, both overall and in league play, while the Raptors move to 5-3 and 0-3 in the Liberty League.
The match, which was played both outdoors and indoors on Sunday, saw the visiting Brewers open with a 3-0 edge in doubles action. Freshman

Sarra Yekta faced off against Katie Esposito and Katri Shields from one, earning an 8-2 victory.
At two, the Brewers duo of senior

Jade Wilkinson bested Nico Gusac and Mia Chan by an 8-1 margin, while from three, senior
Vista Grinde and sophomore
Cara Kizilbash defeated Raptors duo Isabella Sandora and Duhita Das, 8-0.
Singles action saw Vassar surrender just two games as junior
Frances Cornwall defeated Esposito from one by a 6-0, 6-1 score. At two, junior
Meghan Rodick was the victor over Shields in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
From three, Brewers freshman
Tatum Blalock earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Gusac, while from four, sophomore
Melina Stavropoulos was a 6-0, 6-0 straight set winner against Chan. Five saw Kizilbash earn a 6-0, 6-0 win against Sandora, while Fair wrapped-up the match with a straight win over Das, 6-0, 6-0.
The Vassar team is now idle until February 8 when it travels to Army. Individually, freshman
Miriam Gandham will compete at the 2019 ITA Cup, which will take place from October 17-20 at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Gandham earned her place at the Cup by finishing as the Regional runner-up at the Northeast Regionals on September 23rd.
