Gabi Tulk knocked in a header with one second left on the clock to give Vassar a 2-1 win at St. Lawrence on Friday in Liberty League action. The victory moves the Brewers to 6-6-1 overall and 3-2-0 in the Liberty League, while the Saints slip to 8-3-0 with a 3-2-0 conference mark.
With the score locked in a 1-1 battle, Tulk played the hero for the Brewers when she headed the ball in off a corner kick by senior
Savannah Cutler with just one second left on the clock. The goal was her fourth of the season.
St. Lawrence opened the game's action with a tally in the 38th minute. Off a free kick from Tori Daley, the Saints saw Katie Clemmer bury the ball in past Brewers' keeper
Fiona Walsh for the 1-0 advantage.
The Brewers knotted the game at 1-all in the 59th minute after
Ally Thayer took a shot inside the eight off a feed from
Skylar Herrera-Ross. Her tally sailed in past the reach of St. Lawrence goalie Cynnie White.
It was a close battle in shots for the contest as SLU held a slight 13-12 edge. Both teams put nine shots on goal. The Saints also owned a 3-1 advantage on corners.
Both teams return to action on Saturday, squaring off in Liberty League play. Vassar travels to Clarkson for a 2pm tilt, while the Saints welcome Bard, also at 2pm.
