Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

No. 15 Jumbos Top Vassar Men's Tennis 9-0 Saturday

MEDFORD, MA (April 7, 2018)- The Vassar College men's tennis team concluded it's two-day Eastern Massachusetts trip on Saturday morning, dropping a 9-0 decision to the Tufts University Jumbos inside Voute Courts.

The Jumbos (5-1) controlled the play from the start, winning all three doubles matches, as well as all six singles matches in straight sets. Tufts swung first in the doubles matches securing a shut out against freshman Nicolas Demaria and junior Robin Drummond. Meanwhile, junior Nick Zuczek and sophomore Jeremy Auh earned one set for the Brewers and sophomore Dom Demeterfi and junior Jamie Anderson captured two.

Freshman David Gandham gave the Brewers the greatest chance in the singles division ending the first set down three games before dropping the second set to Tuft's Rohan Gupte 6-2. Anderson also showed some gumption in singles, going 3-6 in first set before falling 1-6 to Ben Biswas of Tufts.

With the loss, the Brewers move to a record of 5-10. Vassar is back on the court, next Saturday, April 14 at 10 a.m. against Liberty League foe Rensselaer Polyechnic Insitute in Troy, N.Y.
