ITHACA, NY (April 21, 2018) – The Vassar women's lacrosse team fell in Liberty League action in Ithaca on Saturday afternoon against the 20
th ranked Bombers, 18-3.
In their first meeting as conference foes, Ithaca took control early leading by 10 at the break. The Bombers got their scoring going early as they led 2-0 after four minutes of action.
Storm Sideleau made it 2-1 as she tallied her first of the day at the 23:28 mark.
Ithaca would go on to score 10 of the next 11 goals to build their 12-2 halftime lead. Breaking up the Bomber scoring streak was
Fiona MacLeod as she scored unassisted at 11:24.
The Bombers controlled the second half of action as well as they rattled off six straight goals to begin the stanza. Ithaca build their lead up to 16 before Sideleau recorded her second marker with 3:45 left to play.
Emily Chancey played the full 60 minutes in net for Vassar, making nine saves.
Tessa Waters led the Brewers with two draw controls while
Olivia O'Loughlin and Skylar Herra-Ross each caused two turnovers to lead Vassar.
In the final week of the regular season, Vassar will head to Bard on Wednesday before hosting Union on Saturday for Senior Day.
