POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 29, 2017) – The Brewers play for the final time this year when they host Bates and Haverford on Saturday, December 2 in Kenyon Hall. Action begins against the Bobcats at 10:00 a.m. and concludes with a 3:00 p.m. match against the Fords.
Last Time Out: Vassar dropped both of their contests at Wesleyan on November 18. The Brewers fell to Wesleyan, 9-0, and to Bryant, 5-4.
A Look at the Brewers (4-5):
- Alex Riccio, Mathieu Rizk, and Isaac Stuart all lead the team with a 5-4 record this season.
- Rizk has made an immediate impact during his rookie season, fitting right into the No. 2 spot for the Brewers.
- Three of Vassar's four wins have come at home this season, meaning a return to Kenyon Hall should get the Brewers back on track.
- Caden Gruber has played in all nine games for the Brewers as the No. 3, and has four wins thus far.
- Vassar faced Haverford twice last season, falling 8-1 in both instances.
A Look at the Bobcats (2-0):
- Bates is 2-0 this season after defeating Bowdoin and Conn. College by scores of 9-0.
- Sophomore Mohamed Yousry is the team's No. 1 and is 2-0 this year.
- Sophomore Graham Bonnell was named the NESCAC Men's Squash Player of the Week on November 20.
- The No. 18 Bobcats have taken down two Top 30 teams this season, No. 27 Bowdoin and No. 30 Conn. College.
- All nine Bates players have a 2-0 record this season.
A Look at the Fords (3-0):
- Haverford is unblemished this season having beaten Fordham, Boston U., and Swarthmore.
- Last time out on November 18, the Fords topped Swarthmore 9-0.
- Tate Miller plays as the Fords No. 1 and is 3-0 this season.
- Six Haverford players have a 3-0 record thus far.
- The Fords are ranked 31st in the nation according to US Squash.
