ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY (November 12, 2017) – The men's squash team improved their overall record to 4-3 after beating Colgate, 6-2, at the Bard College Round Robin on Sunday afternoon.
The Brewers picked up wins a Nos. 2-7 to claim the overall victory.
Mathieu Rizk led the way at No. 2 picking up a 3-0 win.
Caden Gruber had to go the distance in the third spot. For the first four games, the two opponents traded wins, but it was Gruber who came through 12-10 in the decisive game for the overall win.
Alex Riccio and
Isaac Stuart in the fourth and fifth spot respectively, both claimed 3-0 wins.
Milind Joshi was also forced to five games. The freshman led 1-0, but dropped the next two and was forced to win the last two to win the game (11-8, 8-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-8). The final Vassar win came at No. 7 from
Drew Hardin who won in four (11-2, 5-11, 11-2, 11-6).
Next weekend, the Brewers will head to Middletown, CT to face Wesleyan University and Bryant University beginning on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
