POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (September 20, 2016) – The Vassar College women's volleyball stays local this weekend for the second round of Liberty League action. The Brewers take on two familiar opponents as well as getting their first look at Skidmore and Union. Vassar College will take on Bard College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Skidmore College, and Union College in a weekend of all-conference play.

Last Time Out: The Brewers started of league play very strong last weekend, finishing 3-1. Vassar maintained great focus and offensive threat, coming out with a huge 3-1 win over Clarkson before dropping the following match to RIT 3-1. The Brewer offense was stellar, hitting .200 for the weekend collectively. Vassar produced in many categories, also recording 229 digs and 33 aces on the weekend.

A Look At The Brewers:

• The Brewers offense is off to a strong start, leading the league with a percentage of .207. Devan Gallagher remains steady, leading the squad with a .287 percentage.
• Setter Annie MacMillan is just shy of 10 assists/set sitting at sixth in the nation for total assists. 
• Vassar's strong attack is also highlighted by 12.3 kills/set, again leading the Liberty League.
• In 47 sets played, the Brewers have totaled 115 service aces.
• As a team, the Brewers are averaging 14.43 digs/set, lead by Senior Sierra Tobin with 167 total digs.

 
A Look At The Raptors:

• The Raptors come into this weekend's tournament with a 2-10 record. The squad fought hard in the first weekend of Liberty League action, holding three of their opponents within five at least once.
• Bard has been strong behind the service line, with two players, Emily Anastasi and Victoria Chou in the league top ten for aces/set.
• The Raptors lead the Liberty League in opponent blocks, allowing just an impressive 1.01 blocks per set against them.
• The squad is not afraid to lay their bodies on the ground, averaging 13.98 digs/set.

A Look At The Tigers:

• RIT holds its opponents to just 8.91 kills/set, leading the league.
• The Tiger's offensive gun, Sarah Syzbist leads the nation in kills/set as well as total kills to date. She tallies her third consecutive Liberty League honor this week.
