Last Time Out: The Brewers took to the road for the first time this season and dominated the Colonials of Western Connecticut State from start to finish.  The game ended in a 6-0 shutout victory for Vassar.  Not only were goals hard to come by for the Colonials, but also the Brewers defense was so strong that Western Connecticut did not attempt one shot all game.  The star of the game for the Brewers was sophomore midfielder Alyssa More. The sophomore standout finished the first half with a hat-trick, the first of her career, which not only gave the Brewers a 3-0, but also put More in the team lead for goals and points, with four and 10 respectively.  Mikayla Young and Lauren Shumate were also able to get on the board for Vassar, while Megan Caveny added a goal and an assist for her first multi-point game of the year.

A Look At The Brewers:
  • The 6-0 victory this past Wednesday marked the fourth shutout for the team.  Two have been awarded to Paige Amico, and Amico and freshman Liz Rotolo have split two.
  • Alyssa More's second goal against the Colonials marked the fifth time this season that a different Brewer has led the team in points.
  • Vassar has not won a game in which its opponent has scored.  All Brewer victories thus far have come by the way of the shutout.
  • The sensational Sophomore class for this Vassar team has accounted for 37 of 50, or 74%, of the Brewers points recorded this season.
  • Vassar has outshot its opponents by a combined count of 124-25.  The only game in which the Brewers were outshot was in their OT loss to Kean University.
  • Vassar has not lost a home game in regulation since October 31st, 2013.
  • Sophomore Gracie Tavakkol has been very efficient for the Brewers off the bench, notching three goals and seven points in just 59 minutes of action.

A Look At The Roadrunners:
  • After starting their season 2-0, the Roadrunners currently ride a two game losing streak as they prepare to take on Vassar.
  • This contest is the fifth of the Roadrunners six game road trip to begin the season.  Ramapo will not play its first home game until the 27th of September.
  • Ramapo has been outshot by its opponents 69-22 on the year, which includes a contest against St. Thomas Aquinas that the Roadrunners won 1-0 while being outshot 15-3.
  • Forwards Nicole Healy and Gianna Mouskourie have been the focal point of the Roadrunners attack.  Each player has notched two of the four goals Ramapo has scored all season.
  • In its 1-0 overtime victory of St. Thomas Aquinas, Ramapo scored just 48 seconds into overtime on a goal scored by Mouskourie and assisted by Healy.

Against Ramapo College All-TimeThe Brewers are 4-1 all-time against the Roadrunners.  The two squads have met in each of the past three seasons with Vassar coming away victorious in all three contests by a combined score of 7-0.  The one victory for the Roadrunners came in a 5-1 victory all the way back in 2009.

Next Up: Vassar will hit the road again and travel to Wayne, NJ to take on the Pioneers of William Paterson University.  WPU looks to be one of the toughest teams on the Brewers non-conference schedule, as the Pioneers currently sit at a record of 4-1.  The game is schedule for Monday, September 19th, with a start time of 7:00 p.m.
